Privacy Policy – RunX

1. Data controller identity

Personal data processing on the RunX website and app is carried out by William Anthony OUZAN, sole proprietor (EI), operating under the name RunX, registered office: 7B Rue Louis-Fontaine, 97427 L’Étang-Salé, La Réunion (France). Contact email for any data protection request: contact@runx.re.

2. Data collected

As part of using RunX, the following data may be collected:

  • Identification data: first name, last name, username, profile picture;
  • Contact details: email address, password (hashed);
  • Technical data: IP address, device ID, phone model, app version, operating system;
  • Usage data: posts, comments, likes, private messages (where applicable);
  • Geolocation data (only if the user consents);
  • Payment data (via Stripe, only for Premium and Professional accounts).

RunX only collects data strictly necessary to provide its services.

3. Purposes of processing

Collected data is used for the following purposes:

  • User account creation and management;
  • Provision and improvement of the RunX service;
  • Platform security and moderation;
  • Internal statistics and audience measurement;
  • Subscription and payment management (via Stripe);
  • Sending notifications or communications related to service operation;
  • Preparing future features, including displaying targeted ads (only with prior consent).

No data is sold to third parties.

4. Data recipients

Personal data is intended exclusively for RunX and its technical service providers acting on behalf of the service, in particular:

  • IONOS SE for hosting;
  • Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. for payment processing (upcoming);
  • Potentially other EU-based hosting providers subject to GDPR.

Data is not shared with commercial partners without the user’s explicit consent.

5. Hosting and data transfers

Data is hosted on servers located within the European Union. Some providers (such as Stripe or Google for analytics or crash reports) may transfer data outside the EU. In such cases, RunX ensures that these transfers are governed by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses, guaranteeing an adequate level of protection.

6. Data retention period

  • User account: retained as long as the account is active, then deleted within a maximum of 2 years after inactivity;
  • Technical data (logs, IP): retained for up to 12 months;
  • Payment data: retained for the applicable legal period (5 to 10 years);
  • Published content: retained as long as it is not deleted by the user.

7. User rights

In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), every user has the following rights:

  • Right of access;
  • Right to rectification;
  • Right to erasure;
  • Right to object;
  • Right to restriction of processing;
  • Right to data portability;
  • Right to withdraw consent at any time for processing based on consent (e.g., advertising, geolocation).

Requests may be sent to contact@runx.re. If an issue remains unresolved, the user may contact the CNIL ( www.cnil.fr).

8. Data security

RunX implements appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect data: password encryption and hashing, HTTPS for all communications, restricted access to authorized personnel only, regular backups. Users are also responsible for keeping their credentials and passwords confidential.

9. Cookies and similar technologies

RunX may use cookies or trackers to ensure the technical operation of the site and app, measure traffic and improve the user experience, and, in the future, display personalized ads (only after explicit consent). Users can accept, refuse or customize cookie usage via the consent banner provided for this purpose, and change their choices at any time.

10. Legal basis for processing

  • Performance of the contract (provision of the RunX service, ToU);
  • Compliance with legal obligations (invoicing, security);
  • RunX’s legitimate interest (service improvement, internal statistics);
  • Consent (geolocation, advertising, cookies, marketing communications).

11. Governing law and jurisdiction

This policy is governed by French law. Any dispute will be submitted to the jurisdiction of the Commercial Court of Saint-Pierre (La Réunion).
